Assault By Mob: Two Suspects Sought In Fight Involving Ex-Con At Virginia Home, Police Say

Two people are wanted and a third ex-con has already been arrested in connection with a fight involving weapons at a home in Prince William County last month, police said.

Police are seeking Jasmine Garcia and Eric Yovany Melara in connection with the incident on the 4300 block of Sudley Road in Haymarket at 12:45 a.m. Feb. 23, county police said.

There, a 31-year-old woman was assaulted by a 24-year-old man had a knife held to his neck, authorities said.

A short time later, another individual brandished a firearm and held it to the male victim’s head, police said. 

Eventually, parties separated, and the victims fled the home to a neighbor’s home where police were called. Minor injuries were reported. 

Following the investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at the home where they arrested Anthony Aguirre, who was also found in possession of a firearm and ammunition, according to police.

Melara and Garcia remain at large. Their roles in the fight were not immediately clear.

Aguirre was charged with assault by mob, five counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and three counts of brandishing.

Garcia is wanted for two counts of assault by mob and assault/battery.

Melara is charged with two counts of assault by mob, two counts of malicious wounding, and one count of abduction.
